On your previous pics, you still had the richauto still hooked up to a few things. Some completed pictures of all areas of the wiring is what would help most. The wiring in the old pics looks pretty bad with twisted bare wires around the vfd and a random wires running everywhere. I try to run all signal wires on one side and all power wires away from them as much as possible. If anything at all of rich auto is hooked up in that control box, it needs to be removed.
The better pics you can provide, the better chance someone will spot what is wrong. Good pictures without the rats nest of wires in the way, so we can see what is hooked where and possibly help.
On your power supply that came with Acorn, I do not see a wire coming from the 5v terminal of it. How did you run the 5v to the step/dir + terminals?
Normal for me is that 5v from the power supply going to those terminals and the step/dir - coming form the db25.

Compare this wiring diagram to yours with the 5v coming directly from the included power supply. I don't see that on your pics.

Re: X axis isn’t working correctly <Laguna 4x8 Router>
Okay I attached the 5 volts DC to the acorn power supply. I quickly looped it around to all four controllers and that seem to have done the trick. I did not initially do that because I thought the original power was still handling that part. But the wires labeled 5v to the controllers no longer go to the richauto to get their 5v so they were dead. I didn't trace the wires around at all or I would have noticed the issue instantly. The original Rich Auto controller that still has a couple of wires on it is the original 24 volt output wires from Laguna.I was going to relocate to my cooling fans. If you had problems with my wiring before you're really not going to like it now. This is just a temporary setup I will get it all nice and tidy. I have spent weeks trying to figure out the cause/cure I appreciate all of the help and suggestions from everyone.

Re: X axis isn’t working correctly <Laguna 4x8 Router>
I'm glad that fixed it for you. I just noticed the 5v terminal didn't have anything on it. I understand temporary and cleaned up wiring stages, but it just made it more challenging to see what you did. For case cooling fans, I usually use 220v fans. Some spindles use 24v fans and the included power supply is usually fine for that. You could remove the richauto and just tie those wires together from the sounds of it.
What I was most surprised with was that it worked at all they way you had it wired.

Re: X axis isn’t working correctly <Laguna 4x8 Router>
The richauto will be pulled today probably. It was just holding the wires. The fan on my spindle is 24v and I have a second fan on the z axis housing. I was going to run things through the acorn relays. The cabinet already has functional fans. All the removed Laguna parts go to my father in law for his 2x3 Laguna. I don't normally like to look like a dummy but this may help someone else down the road and save them the weeks of stress/worry.
