Re: Build Thread- Tree Journeyman 425 to Allin1dc
I'm running mine with an Acorn so I don't have as many I/Os. For the switch to open and close the drawbar there is no connection to the acorn, if you wanted to set up a safety for low air fault I think that device could be used. In my case I can not load or release the tool with no air pressure so there is a safety built in.

Re: Build Thread- Tree Journeyman 425 to Allin1dc
Was doing the setup in notepad plus and went through the instructions. Got to the part to 6.) Add the command to compile the PLC program to NppExec by selecting Plugins → NppExec →
Execute NppExec Script (or press F6) and paste the following line into the Execute window.
“$(CURRENT_DIRECTORY)\compile.cmd” “$(FILE_NAME)”
Note: Be sure to include the quotation marks.
It gives me an error message. Pic added of the error message. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Build Thread- Tree Journeyman 425 to Allin1dc
I don't have much luck compiling in Notepad++ I use the DOS prompt
go to the directory where the file you want to compile is
I may have this wrong...my notes are a bit fuzzy
UPDATED
mpucomp your_plc_program.src mpu.plc
There may be error messages if you have a problem but if not there are several files created that must be in the CNCM directory
The files are listed in the attachment

Re: Build Thread- Tree Journeyman 425 to Allin1dc
Looks like my original yaskawa VFD took a dump. It wont even boot up. It was working pretty well at first. Any ideas on diag?
Also, was considering a replacement from automation direct GS23-27P5. Any recommendations?

Re: Build Thread- Tree Journeyman 425 to Allin1dc
So I ended up using Windows command prompt in order to compile a new SRC file. That worked really well seeing that I couldn’t get notepad plus plus to compile despite going through the instructions multiple times- so frustrating. the first result of the command prompt gave me a handful of errors, mostly for labels. I was able to correct those fairly easily in the next attempt and it was successful. I was able to program the PLC correctly for a tool change. It’s basically a on off on momentary switch for clamp and unclamp of the tool in the spindle. It is wired into inputs 15 and 16 one for clamp one for unclamp. And the air solenoid is wired to output six. I will post a picture of my logic.I had to switch out the momentary switch on the side of the machine before I could test anything first, but now it’s all good to go. I got my switch from Granger. It was only about 10 bucks for the momentary switch. I’m very pleased that that part is complete. I don’t believe I have any other PLC programming to do at this time.
Next episode to find a VFD to replace the one that just broke. I’m taking my time on that. I’ve seen some good used ones on Facebook marketplace, that I might pull the trigger on, but we’ll see.

While I like and recommend Yaskawa VFDs, I would probably choose a new Automation Direct GS23 over a used Yaskawa from eBay or Facebook.
