Re: Ohmic touch off not responding

Wow, that was super weird.
It definitely saved the settings in the THC menu.
I opened up the alt+i menu once more, forced it with ctrl+alt+i, tried again- same result. Then I hit ctrl+alt+i to unforce it again, and now it's working. Joey you're a genius!

Re: Ohmic touch off not responding

Ooh good call, I did forget to enable that!
But unfortunately that didn't fix the issue

Ohmic touch off not responding

I've just updated to v5.2, I input all my old values from the previous install. Now whenever I go to probe the z with the ohmic torch tip, it keeps going and crashes and trips the breakaway. On the Alt+i diagnostic screen, the #9 input works as it should when I ground out the tip. Is there some new ...

Re: THC problem

Hi Joey, that helped a bunch. I see big words like hysteresis in the settings and my brain kinda fogs over! I've got the anti dive threshold up to 25%, and I tried running the 16ga corrugated on the 12ga profile to slow down the feed rate, and that seemed to help too. I'm not sure if I just dial bac...

Re: THC problem

Ok, I guess I was being a little dramatic earlier, there is something working with my THC, at least I haven't fried it. I saw a very helpful video Joey shared on another post about how to interpret the plots: https://photos.app.goo.gl/8JZ3ZBamVvZSxFRr8 I ran a 4" line test on some 16ga and it w...

THC problem

I decided to try the ol dog & pony show of cutting some corrugated steel, and all I got was crash city. I've had some issues with the THC diving the torch into flat material in the past, but now it's pretty apparent that it's not working at all. I'm using a 45xp, so the book values for voltage a...

Re: Sometimes jittery cuts

Well guys, I feel like a bit of an idiot. I was wrong when I said the belt reduction is 1:3.25 - it's actually a double belt reduction. The 2nd belt that goes to the pinion is under a cover that I can't get to easily. But looking at it through a small gap, it looks about the same as the first belt s...

Re: Sometimes jittery cuts

the belt reduction is 1:3.25 that gives a turns per inch of about 1.4, which is still on the low end of good. But these are 1.3kw servo motors, so plenty of grunt. I stepped up the steps/rev to 6400 from 4000 and ran the auto tuning feature in the DMM software. The before and after screen grabs of t...

Re: Sometimes jittery cuts

I did some test cuts at different feed rates on some .063 steel. I saw some oscillation at the lower speeds, but it didn't show up very well in the cuts, the dross was pretty thick at 50ipm. Definitely seems to be worse along the long axis of the table, which sounds more like a hardware issue than s...

Re: Sometimes jittery cuts

The G code came from the post processor in Fusion 360 I did some jogging before I slice up any more steel, and made a slight discovery: While jogging I can only recreate the jitter in the X axis, and only from the VCP. if I use the MPG, it doesn't do it. I couldn't find the diagonal jogging button i...
