Scott,
I finally got it. I'm waiting for a ballscrew for my Z axis and at times disabled that drive. I had 4 and 0 set up in the max-min. I tried negative values with X-Y, but not with Z. I put in 0 for max and -4 for min. I had 4 and 0 or 0 and 4 before. The softlimit button now works for the ...

Re: Soft Limit Setup
Scott,
I'm homing X&Y to negative and Z to positive. I have 24" in max and 0 in min. for X. For Y, I have 18" max and 18 min. I've tried dozen of combinations in the Homing and Limit section. I've fliped the values, tried negative instead of positive values, inputted larger and smaller values ...

**RESOLVED** Soft Limit Setup
Scott,
I've tried every combination of values in the Homing/Limit setup. Is there an another place in Mach 3 that I need to enable the use of soft limits? I constantly get the error "softlimits max<min. Or if I hit the softlimit button I get "machine is out of limits for softlimit activation". I ...

Motor Tuning
Scott,
I found the motor tuning info in the operators manual. Hitting the F1, F2 keys to see the chart after a motor move is no problem and showing only the values that are requested for Kd, Kp and Kvl..no problem. The problem is, my charts with it's info looks quite different than your charts ...

Re: Fast Jog
My next retrofit will be a lot easier. This first one will take months and cost alot more than planned. Most of the time is trial and error or researching. The information is in 5 or 6 different places and fragmented! An organized manual with all the variables would be great. For instance, the motor ...

Re: Fast Jog
Capt M,
I'm also doing a project and jogging seems to be an issue with many. I've read numerous posts and the same applies. Some of these operators have tables that are 100x200mm. So slow makes sense. My table is 72x120!!! It takes me over 3 minutes to jog the full length. I've searched in many ...

Limit Switches, Soft Limits, Homing
Scott,
I now have the limits wired properly and mostly working. The X & Z axis jogs onto the switch and jogs off. However, the Y axis, jogs onto the switch and doesn't jog off. That axis I have to hit the RESET button for it to jog!! Shouldn't they all act in the same manner? I do have that "Y ...

Re: Mach 3 errors
Scott,
Thanks again. So a blinking green light on that LED, when all others is steady green, is of no concern and not related?
I think what messes with me is the Mach 3 manual contradicts a lot of the Ajax Plugin information. Maybe we need in the Ajax information the items to ignor when dealing ...

Re: Mach 3 errors
Thanks Scott for that wiring diagram. I have wired the limit switches and still have some questions. I have one limit switch per axis not two. The Mach 3 manual 4.5.3 section calls this sharing. Nothing I found in the Ajax materials explaining shared limits. The axis wire goes into SW4, axis 1 ccw ...

Re: Mach 3 errors
Scott,
I've been defeating with the switch block. When I do a continuity check on the limit circuit it shows it closed but the LED1 says it's open. Does the AllInOne supply the voltage to the switch? Or do I wire it? Is it 12 or 5 volts DC? I have one drawing that says 5 and one that says 12. This ...
