Hi guys,
I am looking to bring in by spindle speed temporarily through a magnetic pick/Hall effect sensor. Later I will modify the machine to use an encoder.
I looking at the example schematic by Centroid, does anyone have a PN for an Hall effect sensor that they have had good luck with?
Thanks
Roger Smith

Re: Hall Effect Sensor Compatable with Acorn
Hello,
I've used a U58821 successfully from Adafruit (https://www.adafruit.com/product/158) for a homing sensor for a turret. It's 3.5 to 24 vdc so should work fine at 5 vdc. I've also used a Digikey part 620-1830-1-ND successfully for a turret homing sensor for a 3.3 vdc circuit. (This is rated 2.8 to 5.5 vdc.) Either should work at 5 vdc here.
For an encoder I'd recommend going to RLS Merilna tehnika d.o.o. at https://www.rls.si/ and getting a magnetic ring encoder as they are a lot easier to install and take up less space.

Thanks Brenden
Good advise and I have a difficult machine to get the encoder on....these guys have some stuff that might work for me.
