Allin1DC Homing and Auto lube issues.
Hey Guys,
Before I start, I know I need to post a report and some pictures. And I've viewed Marty's videos.
problem 1, when I fire up the mill it needs to HOME. Z works fine and then the X hits the switch and we have to reset the mill and do it again and have to use a thumb or finger to trip the switch just before the original position should be. Then it will notify me that position has change and ask if I want to continue. we press Y and the Y axis works fine. The mill will work as if normal other than that.
Problem 2. The auto luber doesn't seem to work. It is a 110 volt unit.
Any assistance on where to star would be cool.
Thanks
Deon

Re: Allin1DC Homing and Auto lube issues.
1) Your limit switches are probably wired backward, relative to axis direction.
Leave homing aside for the moment: if everything is set up right, you should be able to use Slow, Continuous jog mode to jog the axis away from a tripped limit switch. If you cannot, then either your software setup or your wiring are incorrect.
If your X axis is the #1 axis on an All-in-one DC, and you did not need to set Direction Reversal on the Machine Configuration -> Motor Parameters table (Dir Rev is still 'N'), then the minus switch should be wired to INP1; the plus switch should be wired to INP2; and the limit and home switch numbers on the Motor Parameters table should read 1, 2, 1, 2.
If you needed to set Direction Reversal for the X axis (Dir Rev is 'Y'), then the minus switch should be wired to INP2; the plus switch should be wired to INP1; and the limit and home switch numbers on the Motor Parameters table should read 2, 1, 2, 1.
2) Change Machine Parameter 179 to 0. Then the lube unit should get power whenever a program cycle is active (e.g. while homing, while using the MDI prompt, and while running CNC programs).

Re: Allin1DC Homing and Auto lube issues.
OK, Thank You all for your input and sorry it took so long to do the suggested fixes. and post the report. And this what I've done.
Auto lube changed 179 parameter from 3015 to 0 and the pump kicks on. You can here it. I put it in MDI mode and jogged all axis limit to limit real slow then normal then real fast. No Chatter Yea.
As far as the home switch Iwasn't sure where the or how to get to the Mach Config (motor para table) and had only a little time to play today with it. Maybe tomorrow. So here is the report.

Do you have separate Limit Switches and Home Switches?
You only need a limit switch on each end of the axis.

Re: Allin1DC Homing and Auto lube issues.
It uses one switch at the end of each axis. So I assume they are limit switches and uses them for homing also

Re: Allin1DC Homing and Auto lube issues.
Deon,
I'm not following what your problem is exactly.
Did you have to reverse the X axis motor so the table would move in the proper direction? (CNCSNW is suspecting this I his previous message)
If you are tripping the X axis manually your encoder count will always differ.
Can you do a video and post it to YouTube?

Re: Allin1DC Homing and Auto lube issues.
I was looking at how you set up your soft limits from your report:
CNC11 v. 3.16 coordinates file
Axis Minus Plus
Limit Limit
X -30.0000 30.0000
Y -14.1250 7.0000
Z -5.0000 0.0000
If your Limit/home switch is on one end of the axis, then you should only have one value like you do in Z
For example, If your home/limit switch on X is on the negative end of X, then you should only have a value in the Plus Limit column
Like wise if your home/limit switch on Y is on the negative end of Y, then you should only have a value in the Plus Limit Column
This is why Z works ok. Your limit switch is at the top or Z+ axis, you told the control that you have -5" of travel in Z, so you have a 0 for Plus limit
Please either do a video or take pictures of which switch you have setup for homing on your machine for the X and Y axis.

Re: Allin1DC Homing and Auto lube issues.
Thanks guys.
Ok I changed the X to 0 and 30.0000 also the Y -14.125 and 0 and X did have motor reversed. So changed settings appropriately along with the limit switch wires. But when I power it down, power it up and home it, it say it off by xx.xxx count, accept (y/n) I press y and it does the Y axis ok then the Z ok.
So not sure what to do from here. But it is more normal then it was.

Re: Allin1DC Homing and Auto lube issues.
It will only say off by some amount the first time you home it after making a change. Press x to accept it and continue.
CNC12 stores the home position encoder counts off the limit switch and compares that with the previous value to check if anything has moved. If something is different, you are warned because your fixture (wcs) offsets will no longer be correct.
