Software will not load <answered>

Came out to shop today and I kept getting message “power cycle acorn” which I did five times. Deleted software and downloaded fresh copy. Still same problem. Please help.

Are you sure you have communication with the Acorn? Heartbeat LED flashing? This is usually a sign that there is no Ethernet connection between the computer and the Acorn.

Pinged board and have communication.

Turn off your firewall and try again or make sure you have the proper exceptions to let CNC 12 thorough.

I had this problem with a customers machine, worked perfect upon delivery, Customers computer expert updated windows, setup wifi internet and who knows what else.....

I had him follow the computer setup video so he could turn off all the stuff that causes problems, everything went back to working!

Might just double check the computer settings.

Kutton,

Windows for some strange reason often turns on the Firewalls all by itself. Especially after updates, even some virus protection software and turn on the firewalls. Double check them because if they are enabled Acorn will not be able to talk to CNC12. You can add exceptions but the best way to do testing is to fully disable them in Windows.

Are you plugging your Ethernet cable directly from your PC to the Acorn, you are not connecting to a hub or ethernet switch are you? If so disconnect the internet and plug the Ethernet from the PC directly into Acorn.
