Display issues with Centroid Acorn CNC <1920x1080?>

Post by A4Service »

Good afternoon,

How are you? I hope all is great :)

I am having an issue with the controller for my Lathe machine on Centroid. The control menu which was present on the old machine (now redudant due to a hard drive failure) is not present on the new installation (Please see attached images).

New system

The old machine has the full set of functions and is able to move the lathe, but on the new it appears squashed with many functions missing. It's been such a long time since we set this up initially I can't remember if I am missing any particular settings.

Does anyone have any pointers?

Other than the new system running Windows 11 compared to 10, all else seems to be the same (similar spec, only newer generation).

Thanks your time.

Please post a report. What's your resolution of your new setup? If its not at least 1920 Wide it will likely do this.

Hello,
And welcome to the forums!
What you're referring to is the "Virtual control panel", or VCP for short.
To get started could you post a fresh report for us?

As noted a report would be helpful so we can see your screen resolution setting. Right click on your Windows desktop and then adjust your display settings to 1920x1080 and try that.

The pics show two different monitors, and you can see that the screen entities of the second one are larger, suggesting that it's not set to 1920 x 1080 and/or the scaling has been increased above 100%.

Hello guys,

thanks for getting back to me! I will create a report and post it sometime tomorrow.

As mentioned above, the two monitors are different, but both give the same display i.e they replicate the same control panel on each PC not matter which monitor is used.

Adam.

Adam,
That pretty much confirms it, your PC is set to the wrong resolution and the monitors are displaying that resolution. Here is a Microsoft Link on changing the resolution in Windows 11.

You want the 'Scale & Layout' section to match this screenshot.
