Firstly, many thanks to 'Sliding Head' for the machine and transport.

What an interesting one.

4 Axis machine, 80K spindle. Single phase, steppers, some form of ATC collet system. Titanium 'work holding', what a lovely bit of engineering. It also has some form of tool probe in the back behind the collets.

So, naturally thinking to go Centroid Acorn. What I am unsure about is why there might be two X Axis drives. Cant find a manual for the spindle drive as yet, so not sure what that needs in terms of speed reference etc.

*EDIT*, so the '2nd' X Drive will be for A, probably a failed drive that's been replaced but not relabled.

Any reason why a standard Centroid Acorn board / system wouldnt work here?

Thanks in advance.

@chaz I see you and your new machine have made it here from mycncuk via migwelding. Where are you in the UK?

Yep. Who / what is Migwelding (talking about their forum)? I'm in Oxfordshire.

This is a slightly different model, but there is a reasonable chance it will have the same 15-pin connector.

See section 7.1 of the attached manual (page 10 in the PDF file)

Amazing, thank you. Taking a look.

So taking a look, its 0-10V, nice. Pin 11 for the + side of the input, does it look like pin 8 (ground) for the other wire? I dont see another GND / 0V option.

Pin 12 is Start (Same ground or perhaps related to pin 6)?

I wonder if the 24V on pin 6 is needed / mandatory or only for the outputs / relay statuses?

I suppose if I take panels off tomorrow I might be able to find the wire pairing from the existing controller (unless it just goes into the DB15 and no way to tell).

Ah, sorry, was confused. There were 2 of these machines looking for a new home. The other one seems to have gone to m_c up in Scotland who posted about it on the mig-welding site https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/thr ... st-2554018

I wonder what he will do with his!
