I have been searching for information/ schematic for wiring the kp3 probe and tt-4 together , utilizing the 1 centroid harness for each.
CNC 12 v5.22 kp3 input 6-7 and tt-4 on input 3-4. This seems to work using both cnc 12 and Chips . I have read the input should be shared, is this correct?
Setting tool geometry offset "Z ref in cnc 12 is not translating to Chips . Is this normal ?
Can the TT-4 be assigned a tool number , for instance height/lenght offset. For use on mill bed or lathe spindle ?

Re: kp3 and tt-4 wired
What do you mean with Z-Ref not translating to CHIPS? Be aware that CHIPS always shows the distance from the Z Home position to the point where the reference tool trips the TT. CNC12 shows the Ref. Point in relation to the currently active WCS Z0 point. If you set the WCS Z0 point to match the MCS Z0 point, the Ref. Height in CNC12 should be the same as the one shown in CHIPS.kilo7 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 9:22 am I have been searching for information/ schematic for wiring the kp3 probe and tt-4 together , utilizing the 1 centroid harness for each.

Regarding your probe wiring, you need to give much more information about your probes and your control board. What type (NO or NC) are your TP and TT. What control board do you have? Post a fresh report file to give us more information.

i'll let swissi speak for CHIPS.kilo7 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 9:22 am I have been searching for information/ schematic for wiring the kp3 probe and tt-4 together , utilizing the 1 centroid harness for each.

but i'll chime in with CNC12 comments.
- i like to keep the TT and Probe inputs separate.
- the Touch Probe is assigned a tool number.
- with CNC12 the TT can be used a a reference position to measure tools on a mill, router or lathe.

Re: kp3 and tt-4 wired
Thanks to Swissi and Keith for the info. I now understand how Z ref and in CNC12 and Chips correlate .
