Re: Help needed on the best way to control a 8 position lathe turret
As Keith posted - CTRL-ALT-F on outputs cycles through three states. First press forces the output ON denoted by the green dot and the line under it. Second press of CTRL-ALT-F on the same output forces the output OFF denoted by the red dot with a line under it. The third press of CTRL-ALT-F on the same output switches it back to computer control. In this case it can be either red or green depending on the current computer state, but there will be no line under the dot. This is the state you want to leave the outputs in after experimenting.
Cheers,
Tom

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Also, Do you have your turret wired to output 1? If you force output 2 ON (Green) does your turret then stop spinning?

when i remove the lines the light are both green I think I need to switch the output state from no to nc or what ever it is now reversedtblough wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 11:42 am As Keith posted - CTRL-ALT-F on outputs cycles through three states. the motor is turning and because output 2 is also green it is in reverse

either or both outputs on will cause the turret to rotateAllin1Chris wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 11:53 am Also, Do you have your turret wired to output 1? If you force output 2 ON (Green) does your turret then stop spinning?
both on or just output 2 on is reverse
only output 1 on is forward

Re: Help needed on the best way to control a 8 position lathe turret
you said no line under the output is it's normal state
if true my normal state is now green relays on and I need them to be red, relays off

I have inputs 1234 and 7 with line over them, what does that mean?

"CTRL-ALT-F on the same output switches it back to computer control"
they are both green, relays on (no line under output) when I'm not requesting a tool change.
if I leave outputs 1 and 2 in computer control the motor wont stop.

Re: Help needed on the best way to control a 8 position lathe turret
You currently are using the 1 Output only Turret PLC, it is designed for a turret that only moves in 1 direction, which is suppose to be connected to Output 2. Having it connected to Output 1 is going to cause the turret to spin, as Output 1 "NoFaultOut" will stay on (Green) for as long as the control is not in fault.
Your inputs 1234 and 7 have a line over them, as you may have Inverted those inputs. You can do this by pressing ctrl-alt-I on any input to invert the input.

Re: Help needed on the best way to control a 8 position lathe turret
Keith suggested I use the beta one
here is the one I used 4.18 rev1
see wiring diagram. is it the wrong one it shows forward and reverse relays

Re: Help needed on the best way to control a 8 position lathe turret
hello. yeah. most likely you will need some custom plc programming for that rig.. none of the stock beta plc programs is going to work out of the box with this setup.
