Re: Build Thread- Tree Journeyman 425 to Allin1dc
Wires in the mist coolant and the flood coolant today. Something wrong with flood pump motor. It may just need to be broke loose and cleaned, but I know the wiring is good. I plan to us mist all the time anyway, but i will fix it at some point. I will most likely buy another lube cube from sst. I have one on my other mill and it performs better than the spray master 2. Getting close to finishing!

Re: Build Thread- Tree Journeyman 425 to Allin1dc
Ok. I have my board back from repair. I installed it and everything is working well. All motors and axis jog in the correct directions. Also, all of my limit switches are accurately configured.
I have now progressed into finishing all the software configurations. However, I’m running into a situation where on homing the machine section 6.6, I can jog the X axis over the limit switch, the correct limit switch trips, but it does not allow me to jog off of the limit switch as mentioned it should in the section for configuring limit switches.

So although it was wired and displayed/behaved correctly, i had to do the axis reversal for the limit switches in the software and the seitch the wires on the input terminals on each axis.

On an Allin1DC (and most any other DC-servo Centroid controller of the past 30 years), if you need to toggle Direction Reversal in order to make an axis move in the correct direction, then you also need to swap your inputs for the plus and minus limits on that axis.
Perhaps the installation manual could be more clear about that connection.

Re: Build Thread- Tree Journeyman 425 to Allin1dc
After swapping the limit switches and flipping the settings on the software, I was able to jog off the home limit switches on my desired home locations for each axis. However, when i was setting the software limits, the opposite side would not allow me to jog off and I had to reset the estop to clear. I finished setting up the software limits, but shouldn’t it allow me to jog off the switch on the opposite side after reversing the directions?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Build Thread- Tree Journeyman 425 to Allin1dc
Assuming you have six independent limit switches, wired to INP1 - INP6, and the directions are right and the software configuration is right, then yes: you should be able to jog minus to get off the plus limit, and you should be able to jog plus to get off the minus limit.
You need to be in Slow (turtle) mode, not Fast (hare) mode.
An unfortunate feature of CNC11 and CNC12 (compared with earlier generations) is that if you have more than one limit tripped, then you are prohibited from jogging any axis in any direction. Earlier-generation software (CNC7 and CNC10) would prohibit jogging an axis with a tripped limit farther into that limit; but would not prevent you from jogging any other axis.

If all else fails, post a Report, plus a picture of the Alt-i display while you have just one axis on its non-home limit, and are unable to jog off.

Re: Build Thread- Tree Journeyman 425 to Allin1dc
Odd enough, after booting up this morning I tested it again and everything worked as it should. Was able to jog off both sides. I guess i just needed a restart or something. Sorry haha

Re: Build Thread- Tree Journeyman 425 to Allin1dc
Actually, the issue appears to be intermittent. Was running the system test and the -Y limit tripped and wouldnt jogg off. I tested quite a bit, reversed the settings and the wires back to original and had the same behavior. I then switched them back to inverted, rebooted and now it works fine and will allow jog off -y. One thing i noticed however was when i brought up alt I screen to see inputs and outputs. If i trip -y, the input 4 turns red which is plus y. I think this is accurate seeing they are switched in the software, just the labels didn’t switch.
Will run the system test again and see what happens.

Re: Build Thread- Tree Journeyman 425 to Allin1dc
Ok, well -y tripped again on the system test after working fine prior to. I will post a report and pic.
One thing I noticed though. When I jog over the limit input 4 doesnt flash red, but it “sometimes” gives me y axis position error and faults out. Have to cycle estop to jog off the axis.
When it works correctly, input4 flashes and it rolls off the limit switch automatically and does not give me a fault. Does this sound like an error with the switch?
