You can use the Rufus application to get round the silly MS tests that will say any pre Gen8 Intel will not upgrade. Software like Rufus can help, or other info from the link below:

It's a free upgrade, it just seems crazy not to do it while you can as in effect it extends the life of the setup in terms of compatibility with future software you may want to install, regardless if you have the CNCPC on a network or the internet. I've just done my CNC PC, my two others will be done soon (rainy day job!) so the only one I won't do it my lathe, but that runs a Pentium 166 on DOS so not not so much of a problem! I miss DOS.....

Thanks for your thoughts. The reason why I was considering upgrading to Windows 11 is that I seem to remember something in the Centroid manual suggesting that it is best practice to make sure to run the latest .NET framework. I am not completely familiar with what this is but I believe if you update Windows, in most cases the .NET framework is updated as well.
