Same terminal labeling as some Hitachi models. I would look for a WJ-200 schematic
FWD logic to DCM & S1
REV logic to DCM & S2
Analog volts to ACM & AI1
Alarm to RA & RC (usually)
I would recommend going thru the VFD parms to ensure proper operation
If intended use is for ATC, I would recommend adding an IO board or upgrading to VFD that can monitor motor up to speed and stopped at the very least

Gary, you are awesome. Thanks sir. No ATC now but will upgrade when time. Taking your words to heart and gonna swap out all the bits over the next year. Let me see if I can get a decent prelim wiring done tonight. Will run and post a report and list my observations after that's done.

I am gonna go ahead and upgrade the VFD, would this one be appropriate going 220 1ph to 220 3ph on a 3.5kw spindle:

Also if I was to upgrade to servos and steppers can someone recommend a solid pairing there please?

can't go wrong with Leadshine closed loop stepper drive/motors when you are on a budget. but this machine is big so i would go with AC servos
Leadshine makes some good affordable units that work well.. sureservo2 form automation direct is solid as well.

Alot of headway has been made. I can control the X-Y-Z-A axis all well and good with Acorn. And I can finally turn the spindle on & off from Acorn, but it goes wide open and does not adjust. I have been staring in the cabinet for a bit now and am open to any advice. Attached is a fresh report.
Spindle is air cooled 18000rpm 3.5kw
VFD manual is located with my project pics at the link on the first post.
Please let me know what further info I can provide, thanks y'all!

Hotdog I am in business y'all! So first I was fighting the OG punk-ass VFD that came with my machine. My hope was to get it going and get a few things done before the swap. Yea not a great plan. This thing had several "missing" parameters and ones that did not follow the manuals call outs. So in the end as I was bouncing thru the unknown settings I made the magic blue smoke...I can feel your envy directed at me

Bounced on Amazon and snagged a 7.5kw QNK box. Single day delivery. So I got it here, out of the box, and running in 30min. This one was sooooooooo much easier. They include a manual but also a little yellow index card with tips and one of the tips are the 3 parameters you need to change to make it work with the spindle. It was just that easy. Now I am going to spend this week learning CNCPC as a software and start making dust! Next upgrades will be a full Delta swap. Talkin VFD, servos, and drivers.
Thanks y'all who helped!

Quick questions on the soft limits. If I set the machine up in metric are they in MM? And do soft limits work when manually jogging? I ask cause I have tried setting them a few ways and it does not seem to make a difference after I set them and then jog machine to test.

Yes in mm and if jogging the machine will stop at the soft limits.

I have been manually setting z home on the first few things I have done, no problems there. I have a job I need to do a single manual tool change in. As of now it will stop to allow me to change the tool but I don't see how to reset the z for the new tool before it takes off again. Using Vetric Aspire with the Centroid MM post-processor. Could someone point me in the right direction on this please, thanks!
