WMPG jerky motion <resolved>

Post by avp »

Hello,
I have been using cnc-12 5.2 for some time now, no issues. Today however I had to use my WMPG and noticed it is not operating properly.
It is very jerky. I don't use it too often so I cant remember if I used it since the 5.2 install. I know 5.3 is available but just figured I would ask to see if anybody knows perhaps why it is jerky.
Thank you
Bill

Hi Bill,
It's hard to know exactly what you mean by "jerky" without being able to see it ourselves.
A video posted from your google drive or something like that would help us to see what you see.

In your report I notice a couple things that might be off:
These settings can be found in the Acorn Wizard under the Control Peripheral section > Wireless MPG.
1. It seems the WMPG is set up as a WMPG-4, is this correct? (Parameter 411)
2. There is no WMPG Performance mode set. (Parameter 855)

Does it look anything like this? https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipO ... M3alk4QmVR
I see this 'jerky' advance of the gantry, with a huge lag for the WMPG to catch up.

This is how it is operating. DRO on mpg does not advance or is all over the place. when the when is turned faster the axis can move in either direction as you can see in the video.

Yes, laggy is the correct term. A reboot did it, thank you. Sometimes we don't think of the simple things. I used to shut down the PC every day but lately have been keeping it on. So lesson learned.
Thank you Keith.
