Looking for good value spindle encoder recommendations

Post by fusion »

Hello,
I’ve decided to refit my old Atlas lathe currently running Mach3 to Acorn. I’ve ordered my PC and stepper power supply.
I’m looking for recommendations for the spindle encoder. It’s just a simple hobby machine with a spindle speed that won’t exceed 3000 rpm.
What encoder would you recommend that is as cost effective as possible? (As cheap as possible without being a turd.)
Thank you all for your support.
Mike
