407 limit issues
Hi there
I have bought an old bridgeport that has been retrofitted with the Centroid Acorn controller. I am having issues trying to cycle the home position.
When I click cycle start it will start to cycle and then I get the (soft) limit error.
Have tried overriding and jogging to a negative position so in range but it keeps tripping.
Was working fine so suspect I have done something daft.
Any help much appreciated.
Thank you

Re: 407 limit issues
To use switches or sensors for homing, the desired input must be set to home/limit or home, not limit only

Re: 407 limit issues
Hi Gary
Thanks for the reply. Had a scratch around in manual and wizard settings and cannot find where I set that option. Can you point me in right direction? Many thanks.

Re: 407 limit issues
In the Wizard, try the "Input Definitions" page and change the switch input assignments depending on the configuration:
- to "HomeLimitAll" if they all go to one input
- to "FirstAxisHomeLimitOk", ..., "ThirdAxisHomeLimitOk" if all switches for a specific axis go to a single input
- if each switch has its own input, then assign "{First/Second/Third/Fourth}AxisHomeLimitOk" to the switch that will set home and the appropriate version of "{First/Second/Third/Fourth}Axis{Plus/Minus}LimitOk" to the other switch on the axis.

Re: 407 limit issues
Before you turn power on, make sure that no axis is on the home limit switch. If so, turn the axis by hand away from the switch before power on.

Re: 407 limit issues
Thank you both. Will try this when back at the machine and post a report if not solved.

Thanks for your help here. Have had a look and the machine is set up as follows.centroid467 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 9:27 am In the Wizard, try the "Input Definitions" page and change the switch input assignments depending on the configuration:To say exactly what you need to do, we will need a new report from the machine.

Re: 407 limit issues
Please reread the post from Centroid, Your inputs are not setup they way they suggested. You need "FirstAxisHomeLimitOk", etc. Your's are just set as home switches and not home/limit switches.jamac wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 12:36 pmThanks for your help here.
