Help!!Why is CNC12 turning more and more functions overloaded?

Post by Stephan »

Hello, my name is Stephan,
I am the 2nd or 3rd person who has converted his lathe to CNC12 with C axis and driven tools....
However
I wanted to start tomorrow with my conversion of the additional Y axis
To do this I had to switch from V4.5 to 5.1.

What have you done?
cnc12 was so clear and well arranged.
You turned a tool into a toy and made important buttons smaller for the
you have overloaded it.

what is
Chamfer
turn
Facing
radius
drill
?
Cam
so do it in cam

Then I noticed even more where I couldn't find the functions or words in the new version
I urgently need help

old 4.5 new5.1
vfddirection was my spindle output1 ???
worklight out2 ??? what are the new features or words in 5.1?
VFDenalble output3 ???

If I select the Y axis on my handwheel and then turn it, the C axis moves. If I select the 4th axis, the Y axis moves
that seems very unprofessional

So I'm very grateful to you centroid but please don't make centroid worse than before
You haven't really made Centroid any better for me as an operator since 4.5, only the Y axis is great

thank you for your help beforehand

Of course I will report on the Y axis
HIHI
best regards stephan

The new buttons are one shots for easy one time operations.

You can configure the outputs as you want.

Also the VCP is easy to set up like on 4.5

And yes there is no special WMPG for turning, but I have just started to design an engraved shim for the axis selection knob.

Sorry in German gos faster

Nee also....

Gruss Stephan

Did you by chance install a new version and restore a report from your old version?

Siemens and Haas have a lot more buttons, and you can configure none of them :D

Update from 4.5 :

create report
create screenshots of each wizard page

Fresh 5.1 install, set up the wizard from the screenshots
Compare custom set parameters from the report and change if needed

Takes less than 10min to get the update done and the machine running.

After this you can change the VCP for your liking, remove unused buttons ect.

Here are the reports
I probably have version 4.8

Hey Uwe
Have you been on other machines like me?
look at the picture....
Back then I couldn't find any funny buttons directly on the important buttons. Besides, that's normal...
Do you know machines in companies that don't work properly because someone had to tinker with them?
Of course you can change things about Haas and Siemens......
It's just that those who make money with their machines stay away from things like that.
Otherwise he will soon have a Haas or Siemens monitor in the house.
Or you have a machine that just sits there...

Do you see the ring?
It's not aluminum
Yesterday evening and today 2 hours 50 pieces...It has to work.
Deviation you can see that is the worst. The turning plate was finished.

360 parts from sunday morning running mill and lathe together with 5.19 beta software, so I cannot complain about doing serial work fast and efficient

5.1 is not worse than 4.5. :D it is way better.

sounds like you did not follow the instructions for installing CNC12.
here are the instructions for installing a new version of CNC12.
https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... ctions.pdf

and here is video showing you how as well.

the VCP is fully editable. we "load" it with typical buttons that most users would want to have, if you don't want a button, simply remove it or change it to what you want. here is how.

I followed everything
The problem was that you couldn't see the missing things with a certain resolution of Windows.

The solution was that I set Windows to what Centroid wanted, then set everything so that everything worked and then set the resolution back in Windows
