Spindle Doesn't Operate with VFD in CNC12
I have an Automation Direct Iron Horse GSD5 VFD installed for the spindle on my Grizzly G0759 milling machine. I'm using Acorn board with Clearpath SD motors and belt drive in lieu of the stock plastic gears. I have connected the Arm - / + wires to the motor and the Analog Speed (common and signal) wires to the Acorn relay board but am unsure what to put in the Wizard for this relay. I have tried VFD enable and also spin forward but neither works. The spindle currently operates manually but does not turn on with the CNC12 program. I've attached the user manual for reference.

You do know that's not a VFD, yes? It's a DC motor controller. What kind of motor are you controlling?

Re: Spindle Doesn't Operate with VFD in CNC12
Lol, well I asked for a VFD and guess I got this instead. Per the Grizzly website:
"1 HP
Single-Phase
12A
4300 RPM
Universal
Gear Drive
Shielded & Permanently Lubricated"
Is this necessary to run the spindle a variable speeds within CNC12 or even reverse the direction?

Depends on which GSD5 you have. All should be able to control speed with Acorn's 0-10V output, but it looks like only one does reverse.

Re: Spindle Doesn't Operate with VFD in CNC12
Here's the response I got from Automation Direct. Do I use Acorn's 0-10V output and land it on the 4-20 mA inputs inside the Drive? Also would be helpful to know which wire goes to each input since they aren't labeled. See attached schematic. Thanks!

You might be able to use something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/NOYITO-Voltage-C ... B07BDKCVHW
If the input was 0-20ma, you could just use a 500ohm resistor.
