Hello,
Is there a way to create a pause button, so that the program can be stopped for a period for the spindle to cool down on long carvings.
Thanks
You can use Tool Check for this purpose.

You might want to look into why your spindle is getting so hot. Under normal conditions they should be able to run almost non-stop for days. Some of the cases for overheating are:
Improper VFD settings
RPM set too high
Chipload too high
Cooling fan or water cooler not working properly
Bad bearings
This confused me.
5.18 RC4 is a "Release Candidate" (versus "BETA"), so is it correct to assume it is still on track to General Release soon, and there will be a separate RC for 5.19 at some point? Or has 5.18RC4 been replaced by the 5.19 BETA?

The 5.18 RC builds are for final checks and bugfixes before officially releasing 5.18 as the most current and stable software. 5.19 beta builds will be testing new features and functionality that will be part of the following 5.20 release.
So, 5.18 RC will become 5.18 release. 5.19 betas will become 5.20 RC then 5.20 release.
