Integrating Rhino and RhinoCam with the Acorn CNC Controller

Post by MecTechMike »

Folks,

I made a video demonstrating a successful integration of Rhino, RhinoCAM, and the Acorn Controller. As far as I know, this seems to be a first and it went without a hitch. RhinoCAM can post a Centroid G-Code file and the Acorn sucked it right in and went to work. Pretty cool. I've already done several more complicated parts.

Enjoy,
Mike

Very, very good stuff. Thank you so much for your time & effort! Videos aren't easy to do right...and yours is right!

PS: When are you going to do a lathe video? :D

Thank you for the compliment. Yes, videos do take quite some time.

I'd loved to do a video on a lathe, but my wife is giving me the "not another tool" look.

Excellent work!

You did a really nice job with your

cad and cam. I'm still way behind the curve when it comes to cad and cam but I'm learning every day! :D

Great job on the machine and the video!

You mentioned low profile ball screws in the video. What did you use?

I purchased from Misumi. The X and Y are 12mm ballscrew and the Z is 15mm. These sizes are offered in low profile option and clears all critical interferances.
