sample g code and/or intercon files that i can include with the CNC12 installer
do you guys have any cool sample g code and/or intercon files that i can include with the CNC12 installer?
The idea here is that these files would be sample files included with cnc12 so that newbies can graph/run/open up and learn from (and to show the cool things you can do with CNC12) etc.

Here's a couple pf pic's of a box I just made, not sure if this something your looking for. I used Vectric software to generate the code, worked fine.

Re: sample g code and/or intercon files that i can include with the CNC12 installer
Hi Keith
I've attached 2 files both using 1.75" Aluminium stock to test Mill accuracy.
The Intercon version uses a 12mm End Mill (set up in Inches as I use Imperial) and machines a 1.7" square with 1.5" diamond above and finally a 1.5" diameter Boss on top.
The Vectric Aspire version in the zip is similar but uses an Indexed face mill and machines to Square 1.5", Diamond 1.0" (rectangle rotated 45 deg) and
1" diameter boss. FWIW, I've also included Aspire's jobsheet and Gcode
This test concept was based on an idea posted by Marty some years back and has served me well for testing machine accuracy once fully calibrated
Hope this helps

ah yes the old Euclid block, thanks for the reminder! i'll put ours in the intercon folder with the build.

Re: sample g code and/or intercon files that i can include with the CNC12 installer
Could you perhaps put the installed-with-the-software sample programs -- both Intercon and CNC -- in their own subdirectory; or at least make all their file names begin with a common prefix so that they appear together in the directory listing?
Right now, when one installs updated software for an existing customer who has long since learned to write their own programs, it is a rather tedious task to find and delete the sample programs, if one does not want to leave them cluttering up the customer's program directories.

subdirectory i dont' like since newbies would have to go searching for sample g code to graph
got any programs to share?

Re: sample g code and/or intercon files that i can include with the CNC12 installer
here is my intercon Euclid block, having it in intercon allows the user to tweak the program and or the tool size , feeds and speeds etc.
so while this program is mostly ready to go it is up to the user to set zeros, set tools up in the tool library and or edit the intercon program to suit thier needs. of course if you are a CAD/CAM wiz you can draw up a square, circle and triangle and make your own g code to do the same thing or better even with advanced cleanouts. either way, when you run a machine geometry test we do a couple of things
1.) don't use smoothing for the Final finish passes. so you will see smoothing turned OFF in our programs for a geometry test since by definition smoothing smooths the geometry.
2.) set the cutter comp look ahead to just one line. P99=1 (and then set it back to what is was after you are done.
3.) tweak feeds and speeds to meet the capabilities of the machine tool

and here is a Euclid block generated by mastercam, see notes in the g code program.
