Acorn with Laser

Post by acorn_automation »

Acorn Wizard shows various setup features for "laser'. Need more infor on connecting to a laser. Customer wants to cut stainless up to 6mm. Looking @ IPG or Raycus laser systems, $60K and up just for laser. Their systems can be controlled by their software running on Win10 to set laser beam power, etc. It can run as an app on the Win10 pc with Acorn or std Centroid CNC software, connected to the laser controller via ethernet. Laser tech support people say if NC controller can control a plasma torch it can control a laser; only need a few signals: turn laser on; laser is on, e-stop, hold, fault. Details in documentation support this. So what am i missing.
