Lathe part zero <answered>

Post by Tcwms »

I am having issues with setting part zero and just trying to eliminate all possibilities. Sometimes X0Z0 is correct and sometimes X0 travels to the -X side of the part. When loading a lathe program created other than in Intercon (Fusion 360 in this case) is the part zero set before the program is loaded or after? Or does it matter? Similarly, do you set part zero before creating an Intercon program or after, but before posting it?

Set part O before graphing is ok.

You can set part zero at almost any point in the process.

I recommend doing it as you are getting ready to run the job: after writing it, after loading it, after setting tool offsets, but before graphing it (because the F8/Graph screen will tell you whether or not running the job, with your current part zero, will stay within your software travel limits.

Make sure you have set the correct nose vector for your tool in the tool table.

Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Thanks to all of you for your responses. I didn't think it mattered to set before or after the program was loaded, but needed some confirmation.
