Hi, all
Has anyone managed to wire the DYN4 ZRI using only two Acorn inputs?
X-Axis ZRI to Acorn IN1
Y-Axis ZRI to Acorn IN1
Z-Axis ZRI to Acorn IN1
X-home switch, Y-home switch, Z-home switch, wired in series to Acorn IN2
Normally Open switch, Normally closed switch ?
Acorn Wizard settings ?
I understand the homing file needs to be modified, anyone have the syntax for this ?
Thanks

Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

If you are looking for accurate homing, then each ZRI will need its own input.

Re: Hi, all
Why couldn't all of the ZRI's be or'd together into one input? Just like the home switches all ganged together. Each axis backs off from home following the home command, correct? This allows the next axis to use both common inputs, home switch and the ZRI marker.

To do it right, you use a mechanical switch, to roughly home, and then have the control hunt for the Zero Reference Input for each axis to home accurately.

Re: Hi, all
Agreed. If the home commands are done correctly, all axis ZRI outputs from the DYN4 can be or'd together into one Acorn input. Correct?

Re: Hi, all
You can't group the ZRI because the control moves to the limit switch, backs off, and stops on the ZRI signal. That leaves the ZRI on when that axis completes the home routine.

Re: Hi, all
Thanks for the reply!
Doesn't ZRI go away when the drive backs off? If there's a chance that the particular axis may still exert ZRI, then back off a predetermined amount that does not exert ZRI.

Re: Hi, all
I guess I should clarify. Could the home routine set home on a particular axis then back off prior to doing the next axis home then repeat. After X y and z home (and back off), the last command would be to home all to the previously known home locations.
Could this work?
My concern is using up the few remaining Acorn inputs, which would mean dropping the 2 inputs I would prefer to save for probing.
