The ethernet cable is not near the 220V power. I disconnected power to the VFD and ran the program again. Still errors.

are you using a USB to ethernet adapter? photos of your machine and control system would make this line of questioning go much faster.

Things that will cause com errors
1.) using a RJ45 a bulk head connector
2.) Using a regular non-shielded Ethernet cable
3.) Using a USB Ethernet adapter.
4.) Ethernet adapter drivers on CNC PC haven't been updated
5.) ANY type of anti virus software installed, you can't just simply turn it off you have to uninstall it
6.) Windows fire wall blocking cncm.exe, cncr.exe, or cnct.exe
7.) Windows or Laptop bios power saving feature turning off the Ethernet adapter, Windows resetting the ip address automatically. Un select “Obtain an IP address automatically” in Windows ethernet adapter settings and select “ Use the following IP address”

My suggestion to you is to unplug EVERYTHING except the Ethernet cable AND the power connector to Acorn.
Make sure nothing else is powered up in the cabinet.
Start CNC12, leave it sit there for awhile.
Check the error logs
See if you are still getting errors.
If you are not getting errors any longer you need to check your wiring.
If you ARE getting errors, suspect the PC, (have you updated its drivers etc.?) Ethernet cable, possible problem with Ethernet port
Make sure nothing else is powered up in the cabinet.
Start CNC12, leave it sit there for awhile.

So Far have checked the PC and cables thoroughly using the guides as cnckeith's guide. Everything there checks out. Will unplug everything tomorrow and go item per item if the board comes back clean.

Just a couple days ago, I had no communication to the motion controller....found bad ethernet cable.
I have also had errors that were tracked down to the Ethernet port on the PC. Replaced the PC problem solved.
That's why I suggested you go to a bare bones bench test, Acorn and PC only and do some checking....

Hi We methodically added and subtracted items in and out. Errors were not consistent. We tried 5 different ethernet cable s and each one fit loosely into the acorn board. We pretty much figure that is the culprit. Where do we go from here? Thanks
