Steve, Try the Gray_Code_2_Output_Rev1 in this zip located here. The 2 Output PLC will match the Schematic you have been looking at, and should be closer to what you need.

https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... s_rev2.zip

Simply if the Axis Driven one does not work out for you.

thanks Chris
After making all of these parts and electronics. and all i made actually works.
It is a bit hard to go to simple "G0 A 45.00" degrees and not know if it is even there.
that is why I was favoring the gray code, there is an error if the tool change fails.
All this work, The lathe will sit until I figure it out.
Thanks again

REVISION: THESE ENCODERS ARE JUNK !!!!

here is a find that may be a point of interest for others considering 4 wire gray logic.
this is a 5 pin, common and 4 in
16 position gray logic mechanical encoder 360 rotation
will work for 24v
I just purchased 2 for $21.33 inc postage

Steve, you are doing a great job. Persistence will pay off.
Hopefully once you wrap it up, you will provide your final report, how your turret operates and perhaps a sketch of your turret specific wiring.

Marty

Thanks Marty
I don't hurry
as in the title I'm looking for the best way not just what may suffice
I might fail but not without a struggle, so that's OK with me.
