Did you happen to find a fix for the Oak/DYN4 encoder quadrature error problem? Im currently working on a lathe build with an Oak and DYN4 drives and have encoder quadrature errors. I can jog the X axis and get a Z axis quadrature error. Also occurs on the axis that is moving.Wolfenstien wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 10:05 pmMarty, martyscncgarage wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 9:51 pm Keep plugging away.
You got me motivated to start putting my OAK DMM DYN4 system together for the Clausing Kondia knee mill purchased to upgrade the control and sell it on.

I'd be interested in what type of progress you make with the oak board and the DYN4. I've got axis motion now and its pretty good, but I still can't make it work without quadrature errors. I think your going to find the signal being sent from the dyn4 drive to the oak isn't perfect. I haven't pursued that issue any further yet. (I might never pursue it if it doesn't cause issues)
First Pic is what you get when you start running and the spindle is turning the wrong direction. (Tool is upside down in the turret)
Second pic is what you get when you turn the spindle the right way.

Re: Mori Seiki SL1H Oak Board Build
I just got the drives/data cables to test. I don't recall having quadrature errors on my setup. I've been gone on vacation and have a lot of catching up to do! MAYBE I will get to it by next week and get the drives and data cable replaced and on the bench. I will do a follow up video.burke_wl wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 10:38 amDid you happen to find a fix for the Oak/DYN4 encoder quadrature error problem?
