Wireless MPG CWP-4 won't jog Z axis

Post by mlegary »

Installed CWP-4 as per instructions, it does communicate and work correctly when I select X or Y axis or use any of the buttons, but once I select Z axis and try to jog it will not jog Z and will no longer respond until I do a reset. Once reset, I can repeat the issue again and again.

Any ideas of what to check?

How does the control work if you use some other method to move the Z axis instead (e.g. keyboard jogging, VCP, or MDI)?

Keyboard Jogging, VCP and MDI all work correctly until I try moving the Z axis with the MPG and Z axis doesn't move.
Once this occurs, keyboard jogging, VCP and MDI will not work, along with the MPG, at all until I do a reset (Press to reset on VCP).

thanks,
what happens when you use the Jog + and Jog - minus buttons on the CWP-4 with the axis selection knob on Z?

also, set the Wizard inputs that you are using for limit switches to "Unused" and write settings to cnc control and follow instructions for reboot..then try the MPG again and report back.

If I use the Jog +/- the Z axis and all others jog and continue to jog as expected.
It is when I use the wheel to jog Z that a freeze is experienced until I do a reset.

I changed the input for my limit switches to unused and the same issue occurs. Z will not jog on the wheel and requires reset to allow other axis to jog. Z does move correctly with the Jog +/- buttons still.
