452_PC Receive Data Error

Post by Maint_1 »

I'm occasionally getting this error which is forcing a restart and interupting the job run.

Any ideas?

What is the circumstances in which you have PC recieve error
What is the status of Mpu11 ??is it on temprarory off??
Also Do you set the windows7 poweroption???

I set all the Windows 7 parameters per Centroids bulletin.
I believe the machine was idling at the time.
MPU11 temporary off? Not sure what you are asking here.

I have been getting the same error code myself. It seems to do it consistently when I am in the PID config screen while trying to autotune the motors and other times randomly.
It would really be nice if there was actually some tech support in this support forum.

MPU11 temporary off? Not sure what you are asking here.
I think he is asking if there are signs that a logic power interruption caused the MPU11 to reboot.

If so, then immediately after the 452 error the pattern of indicator LEDs on the MPU11 or All-in-one unit would show it was going through its boot process. You would probably have to exit and restart the CNC11 software, and when you did you would be prompted that machine home was not set.

I have seen this happen with a noisy lube pump motor on a Bridgeport. The inductive spike upon switching the lube pump off (which happens at the end of every program cycle, and happens multiple times when doing the PID tuning procedures) occasionally caused the MPU11 to reboot. When I put an RC suppressor (Quencharc) across the lube pump motor, the problem went away.

If, on the other hand, you can immediately resume normal operation after the 452 error, then the MPU11 is not rebooting. You may have a bad ethernet cable (try a different one, preferably shielded); or you may have software on the PC that is tying up the computer. Make sure that you not only disable automatic updates for Windows, but do the same for all other software you have installed: antivirus software, Adobe reader, Java runtime, etc..

Actually there are three major reason for the 452_PC Receive Error

1) Your PC stop communication b/w Mpu11 the main reason is either hard drive go in to sleep mode or any Antivirus or windows update or any other software interrupt communication.
2) Mpu11 got some noise from any of the device like lube pump or Spindle contactor etc ,result in the momentary off the power supply which forces Mpu11 to reboot ........To trace the Noise is not an easy task .I used EMI Filter and use a separate transformer for the MPU11 power input it will solve my problem...

3)Bad Ethernet Cable

I have followed the bulletin from Centroid for Windows 7 setup so there is no antivirus, no sleep mode and updates are turned off.

I had a problem with the DC3IOB shutting down on my CNC10 machines due to a lube solenoid cycling. I now have RC filters on them as well as the coolant solenoid, no pumps we use air venturi system.

I checked my connection for Ethernet and MPU11 power, all appears good. Centroid sent me a software download yesterday which is intended to help capture the fault. I'll let everyone know what I find out.

In my case I don't operate the machine and it's quite random so I can't say whether or not the MPU11 is rebooting. You have to restart though.

Is there any other sort of "noise" other than a lube pump that would cause this 452 error while in the PID screen or while running autotune?

Are your motor cables shielded? They would definitely be running during autotune, likely all thats running.

My motor cables are not shielded, just twisted. I couldnt find shielded cable anywhere when I was wiring my motors. Also, the origonal cables were not shielded.
