I think you answered my question. I did not think I could use the ACORN board to control the power on/off of the VFD for the reasons you mentioned.
If you go to Centroid's web site for the OAK or All in One DC and down load their schematics packages, you can see examples of how they wire their VFDs(Inverters).

I went to the link and download the wiring diagrams you mentioned but most files failed to open. Of the one that I could open I did not learn much from the diagram. I will just turn on the VFD from a switch.
