Oak MPG wiring discrepancy in schematics

Oak MPG wiring discrepancy in schematics
I am working on a knee mill Oak CNC retrofit. In the process of wiring the cabinet I came across a discrepancy in the install manual with the wiring diagrams. I am looking for definitive clarification. I attached a photo of the issue. The first and second images in the picture both show the MPG connector from the install manual PDF. Pin 1 is indicated in the first picture by the black square. I pointed to the corresponding Pin 1 below.
In the first image the pins are as follows
1 = +A
3 = -A
5 = +B
7 = -B
In the second image the puns are as follows
1 = +B
3 = -B
5 = +A
7 = -A
Question #1 Which one is correct???
Question #2 In the third image I would like to confirm that when a specific selection is made it is pulling down the signal to common.
Example, if want to select x10 and X axis I would connect pin 11 and pin 4 to 5vdc Common pin 2 ??
Question #3 Last, please confirm my understanding of the Axis naming convention of the MPG
Axis 1 = X
Axis 2 = Y
Axis 3 = Z
Axis 4 = A
Assuming I use the Axis drive ports 1-4 accordingly.
In my build I am using the 4th Axis for a rotary indexer

Am I buying the wrong board? I see tons of activity in the Acorn forum, moderators answering, centroid techs answering and others answering all sorts of stuff. I thought these would be pretty simple questions considering it is ALL from your installation instructions and your wiring diagrams.
Did I post something wrong? Am I breaking rules or something?

In an effort to try to answer my own questions and keep this build moving forward I assumed that you would use the same MPG on the Allin1dc controller as well. I downloaded the installation manual and searched out the diagrams. Evidently they were copy and paste since they have the same exact discrepancies.

I tend to agree with you. The keys don't seem to line up correctly either.
Let's see if one of the Centroid Techs will respond....
I have an MPG, but would take a bit of reverse engineering to see what wire goes where because there is a bulkhead cable that the MPG normally connects to.

1- If you are using an MPG that Centroid supplied, the pinout of the MPG cable that we offer which is on the schematics is correct. If you are using your own MPG then you would follow the pinout that is in the manual.
2- You are correct. Those inputs are pulled to 5VDC COM a.k.a +5V Return when they are active.
3- You are correct with the axis labels for a typical Mill/Router system. The first axis is X, second is Y, third is Z, and fourth is A. I have seen some systems that have the fourth axis labeled as W but I believe that industry standard has the A as being a rotary fourth axis while W is a linear fourth axis that behaves similarly to the Z axis such as a dual head router.

Ok so the answer to number 1 is the first picture from your wiring diagram is correct. The second picture from the same Centroid Oak install manual is wrong. Just to be clear it is also wrong in the Allin1DC install manual as well. Regardless of what MPG is being used, the pin out on the Centroid board is the same as picture 1. Friendly suggestion, pass this info along to whoever can fix it in BOTH install manuals so that it will be correct.

The swapping of +B-B and +A-A changes the direction of the mpg. You may have to do this depending on your specific manual pulse generator. Once you have everything connected, verify that when you move your MPG in the positive direction, the axis also moves in the positive direction. If it moves the opposite, you will need to swap the A and B phase wiring.
This is very common, and you may have to do it on the actual motor encoders as well. Every axis can be different so try it connected one way and swap if necessary. Centroid makes it easy to invert the spindle encoder by entering a negative encoder count value. I don't know why they don't do this for all of the encoders. It sure would make life easier than having to redo connectors!
The mating connector part numbers to fit the OAK/ALLIN1DC boards is in this message viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1315&p=7633&hilit= ... ctor#p7633. They can be ordered from Digikey.

tblough, thanks for the info on the connector. Actually Digikey has been out of stock for a while now. In fact I searched high and low and only found 2 connectors in the US in stock at a company and bought them both. I am wiring up a wireless MPG (doesn't sound right) since they don't yet have a USB version available.
I figured the A and B signals could be switched and it would effect direction but assumed that if wired correctly to begin with they would work correctly from the get go. Thanks for the info that they could require being switched in order to work correctly.

I like the MPG they offer for the Acorn. The X,Y,Z display seems like it would be useful. How's the responsiveness with the USB? Is there any delay between changes on the MPG and the actual movement of the axis? I went with one by the same company but is direct wire to the control board.
