Renishaw TS27R Tool Setter
I have an Allin1DC controller. I just purchased a KP1 3D CNC touch probe from Centroid CNC. I have a leftover Renishaw Tool Setter TS27R from another project. Has anyone used both of these on the same machine? I figured that if I was going to connect the KP-1 I would try to connect the Renishaw at the same time. I am not finding much on the wiring connection for the Renishaw. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Renishaw TS27R Tool Setter
See the attached manual.
Do you have a Renishaw interface unit (MI8 or MI8-4) to connect the TS27R?
Or are you hoping to connect the TS27R directly to the Centroid PLC without using a Renishaw interface unit?

Re: Renishaw TS27R Tool Setter
I did not see any attachment. I was unaware that there was an interface. I did Google that after you supplied the part numbers. I think (?) I would prefer to connect it directly if that is possible.

Re: Renishaw TS27R Tool Setter
Is it possible to connect without the interface unit? I do not have one. If i need one, is there one that is better than the others?

Re: Renishaw TS27R Tool Setter
Renishaw says you are not allowed to use it without the interface board. The output of it is 5V so you need to configure the centroid input so it can understand that.CNChobbyguy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 6:14 am Is it possible to connect without the interface unit?
