After upgrade servo don't move
Hello,
I purchased a CNC milling machine with Acorn Centroid, and I'm currently upgrading the computer, which will also involve upgrading Acorn from version 4 to the latest 5.3. So, I used the wizard to pass the configuration (see the screenshot of the previous configuration), but I must have made an error somewhere. Now, the Acorn shows that my axis is moving, but my machine is not. Could you point me to how I can test my configuration and troubleshoot?
Regards
Vincent

Re: After upgrade servo don't move
If you imported the report from the old version to the new one, that is probably the problem.
If you did not do that, maybe post an old report along with a new report so the smart people can see what you did.
The structure and architecture of the software has changed a lot. Buttons are in different places and programming flow has changed. If there were custom things done in your old version, they may not work the same way in the new version. You need to take on the new version 100% and not use pieces of the old version, in my opinion.
If you are just trying to jog the machine around with the arrow buttons, that has also changed. You have to hold down cntrl when pushing arrow buttons.

Re: After upgrade servo don't move
Hi,
Thanks for the answer so i tried to press the CTRL key as i job. No differance. I upgrade by taking screenshot of the wizard and reproducing them into the new computer.
I also did report before (old version ) and with the new version ( i attached both files).
Regards
Vincent

In the wizard, have jog come on automatic and hide the jog legend is what I do. (two different boxes to check) Then when you start it up, it's ready to jog. You can also have it start on fast jog or slow jog.
If it moves with the arrow buttons on the screen, then I'm off base with my thoughts. If it's just arrow buttons on the keyboard, then this may help.

Re: After upgrade servo don't move
It looks like you went to a worse pc. 2.30GHz. No changes in wiring during this swap?

Re: After upgrade servo don't move
Hi, Yes this is a temporary laptop i am using to test without changing anything on the existing one ( so in case i mess up something I still have a configuration to go back to ). I haven't change anything in the configuration during the upgrade. Also i test a more simple homing method without any success.

Re: After upgrade servo don't move
laptops are not supported or recommended to be used. It makes sense that you are keeping the other one as a backup, but you are making it harder trying to use the laptop.
