During the course of my project the Acorn board has worked flawlessly. Suddenly, today the MPU fails to initialize on start-up. This is after working most of the afternoon to get my drives tuned.
I've searched on the forum for an answer and thought I'd found it with Marty's Tech Bulletin regarding the use of two power supply's (I have separate power supply connected to my AC Drives). After removing that piece of the puzzle I'm still not able to get CNC 12 running. Has anybody else seen this happen?

Make sure Windoze didn't turn the firewall thingie back on. The proper name escapes me but mine does the same thing every now & again & it's always that problem.

Re: "MPU Time Out after 45 seconds"
Dickeybird, thanks for the response. I checked out the firewall settings and unfortunately that wasn't the issue.
With only one steady blue light on the the BeagleBone, I followed Marty's De-Bricking instructions and attempted to load new firmware on the BeagleBone. With the Micro-SD card insterted and the "User" button depressed, I powered the unit with a 5v cellphone charger. This would cause the single blue light to illuminate, but I did not get any of the sequential lights on the other side of the Ethernet port to illuminate. I formatted the disk in "Fat32" before loading the firmware files. I tried this process using the downloadable HP Formatting Tool in addition to the one that is on my Windows 10 operating system.
Please let me know if anybody sees any steps that I've missed. FWIW, this issue is in no way a reflection of the quality of the Acorn. I'm pretty sure that I caused this problem by allowing a bare shielding wire to brush the top of the Acorn and short across soldered connection points while I was moving a plug from one drive to another during tuning. My first step after resolving this will be to mount a Plexiglas cover on stand-offs above the control.

If a grounded shield touched some points on the Acorn you could have damaged something on the Acorn. If you ran the de-bricking process and nothing happened sounds like you might have fried something.

While it happens, I think you know what the problem is....did you brush the top of Acorn motherboard or the BEAGLE BONE Green Small Board Computer?Bill McMahon wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 10:12 am Dickeybird, thanks for the response. You can buy a BBG and replace it, reflash it and you may be up and running. I would call Centroid with your head hung low and explain what happened and see if they have any suggestions of what you might be able to do and salvage things.

Marty,
I'd assumed I must have brushed the top of the BeagleBoneGreen because I moved the plug from one drive to the next and the BeagleBone went cold.
It's been my lucky day though; I brought the Beagle Bone home from the shop to try going through your process one more time on a different computer and I think it's restored! I downloaded another copy of the zip file, used the included HP formatting tool to format the disc and reloaded the firmware. When I plugged in the Beaglebone I finally got the sequential lights followed by a heartbeat. I'll know for sure when I put it back in the Acorn tomorrow, but I'm pretty confident.

For what it's worth, I used a usb cable that would allow the beaglebone to communicate with my computer and my computer recognized the device. After that I unplugged the B.B., loaded the micro SD and plugged it back in for success.
Thank you very much taking the time to put together the resources and the tutorial. It's awesome that Centroid has provided a venue for this type of community support.
