Enable the Rapid Override and Link/Unlink with Feed Override

Post by Aplus »

How do you enable the Rapid Override and Link/Unlink with an Allin1Dc controller. I have the VCP figured out I think, at least it looks good but the rapid never changes. The feed override works well. I just can't figure the rapid out. I have read to select it in wizard VCP preferences but I don't have a wizard. I have referenced P51 in the VCP manual to get the buttons to work but the rates don't change.

I believe you're looking for Parameter 264:

It doesn't say in the manual, but adding 4 to P264 enables the Rapid Feed Link.
(I've marked this down to be fixed)

I have tried 1 thru 7 in p264. It still does not work. I am by far not a PLC expert however I don't see any logic in there for rapid override. I would think it would be similar to feed override logic.

You haven't included a report so we don't know what version you are running. You need to be on the latest version, with the latest PLC program to have separate rapid feed override. This was a recent addition.
Cheers,

Tom

I tried to upgrade to CNC12 V5.30 and use the PLC program Centroid_ALLIN1DC_Mill_BP-Boss-r7.src. I now will get a F7 "Link on" button while homing. If I click on it before the homing sequence is finished, The Feedrate and Rapidrate will highlight on the screen (A different shade of blue) like "Link" was turned on. I don't see a button to turn it off or unlink. There is also a F7 "Link On" button along the bottom of the MDI screen. I'm still not seeing the rates changing for Rapid override. I have added a new report.

Currently that feature is not the ALLIN1DC PLC Programs including in the BP Boss PLC Program.

yes.

you can add it yourself for the v5.30 PLC program or wait till next version.

Related. USB-BOB gets you dedicated Rapid and Feedrate knobs as well.
