Re: Parameter 78

I set P78 to 0,1,5, etc, but that didn't help much.

I think the issue was that the min/max spindle speed is what determines the 0-10v scale, (in Setup - Motor). I was hoping it was smarter than that. If there's a parameter we can adjust to slave the 0-10v to the encoder pulses, that would be a lot ...

Parameter 78 - Solved

Can someone explain P 78 in practical terms for me? This happens on several lathes for me, so I'm curious as to the behavior why. Here are some conditions:

Set P78 to 1

Goto MDI
M03 S30
CYCLE START

Spindle goes to 30 rpm.

Set P78 to 7
Goto MDI
M03 S30
CYCLE START

Spindle goes to 55+ rpm ...

Re: Spindle Jog?

I'll setup an AUX key and then set P760 to 10 rpm or so and this should do it. Yeah this is very good. Simple. I'll follow up after the weekend. Thank you very much.

Re: Spindle Jog?

Hmm, not sure what I am doing wrong here.

So far I have:

P313 = 6
P35 = 6
I set axis 6 (it has a little S next to it) in the motor CFG to also say C
P167 = 19

I see the C axis in the DRO, but it has a huge value (not 360) and it doesn't move when I select Axis 6 on the MPG. Is there a TB or a ...

Re: Spindle Jog?

Okay, I think that this is set via P35 and P312. I will try this weekend during downtime unless someone has some more insight.

Spindle Jog?

I can't seem to find anywhere that I can enable my lathe spindle to jog. The operators want to be able to hit the jog buttons on the MPG and move the spindle slowly at some speed and rotate the wheel to spin the spindle. This particular spindle/chuck is difficult to move by hand. Can I set the Oak ...

Re: Drive Fault Conditions

Thank you, this was a really helpful missing piece of the puzzle. We (likely) have 11 of these to do asap and maybe 30+ more machines right after; we just don't have the technicians able to do the work. (We're hiring, well paying jobs in NE Ohio!) So in my spare time (lol) I'd like to come up with a ...

Re: Drive Fault Conditions

The system variable for SV_Drive_Status_X description in the programming manual is vague. I want to know what conditions we have to meet in order for that to be not in a state of "drive fault" and what other conditions contribute to that message.

Re: Drive Fault Conditions

I want to clarify my questions here a little, because I understand they could come across as sophomoric misunderstandings of the basics, but I am interested in more detail, specifically, where does SV_DRIVE_STATUS_X live? What are the conditions that change it, and where can I find this code?

As ...
