Re: LeadShine EM542S
The wires on the top side of the image is for the for drivers Step and direction. The wires on the bottom side is the ground or negative for each driver. I try to avoid daisy chain going to the drives.

LeadShine EM542S
Testing the LeadShine EM542S driver and having an issue with getting a motor to spin. Using the 25 pin header. Measuring voltage at the 25 pin connections the direction pin does go high and low as it should with direction. The step pin appears to always have 5v. I need to goto the shop to get my osc...

Re: SDSK motor help
Ok now that I have the system working. Can any explain when connecting the SDSK motor per this S14972 drawing it does not work? The only way I have been able to get the motor to function is to use the 25 pins for the step and direction. The enable connections to the motor will work connected to eith...

SDSK motor help
I am onsite and under a littler pressure to get this system working. I originally connected based on the schematic that uses the 100ohm resistor with 5v. I could not get the motor to enable. I removed the resistor and the motor will now enable. connecting the enable wires directly to 5v will enable ...

Re: What controller
I may be wrong in this statement the Acorn really in not handling the closed loop the drive is. The Acorn can handle an alarm signal to alam if the drive faults There is not connection for the encoders on an Acorn system.

Re: What controller
I have a solid understanding of what I need as far as the IO. I do not have experience with this drive Delta ASD-B2-0421-B. This is the reason for my specific question about the drive connection. This driver has a positive and common for each step and direction. As in xs+ xs-. The MB3 board also has...

Re: What controller
CNCkieth, Thank you as I research more I see why the Acorn will work.
Looking at the pins on the MB3 board, what is marked as -XS and -XD would both go to the common pins on the Acorn. Am I correct in this?

Re: What controller
A quick look at the existing connections shows that 9 inputs and Outputs are needed. This is a 4x8 machine and will be used for cabinetmaking.
