Post Processor for Solidworks?

Is there any plan to release a post processor for solid works? Specifically lathe in my case? I did not see any Centroid post processors in their post library.

ask Solidworks. Centroid doesn't create post processors for Cad/cam systems, that is up to the creators of the cad/cam system.

Ah interesting. Thanks for the input

Hawk Ridge produced a Centroid MIll PP for me at no cost. It's a free down load on their web site. If you ask, they may produce one for a lathe.
CNCKeith, please correct me here, but using a Fanuc PP will work with Centroid. Solidworks does have both a 2 axis and 4 axis PP for Fanuc.
Also, SolidworksCAM is produced by CAMWorks, so you would need to contact them.

'using a Fanuc post' is no sure thing. while centroid and fanuc use the same base industry standard g code there are differeneces.
many that want to create a post that doesn't exist will start with a Fanuc 0M post and modify it to be fully compatible with Centroid code by looking at the Centroid operator manual description of how each g and m code works. and creating a few sample programs with intercon to see how intercon creates centroid compatible g code and compare that to the post processor being worked on.
send a copy of who you bought the cad/cam software from of the centroid operator manual and tell them you want their software to create g codes for this control.

Also, if you have some software skills, there are free tools to create/modify a pp. And you do have the g code from intercon to check your output. And once again, Hawk Ridge Systems wrote a Centroid Mill pp for me at no charge. It works great.

It is strange that Centroid isn't paying Solidworks or any other CAD software companies to make PP. The more 3D software Centroid is compatible with the more boards you sell.....

It is my understanding that CAD/CAM customers work with their CAD product providers/resellers (Solidworks, Fusion360, Solid Edge)to provide PP for the CAM portion of their products.
If you're a hobbyist, be glad that there are free/minimal cost tools of commercial quality to support our interests. Centroid, previously a "large" CNC machine/control provider company has done a wonderful job of investing resources to move their industrial level products into the low end market without compromising the industrial level functionality.

I realise this is an old thread, I picked it up from searching for a Solidworks CAM PP. I don't have SolidCAM but have Solidworks CAM available to use. I've downloaded the Hawk Ridge Centroid_M so will give that a go, I've just made a simple spiral clear hole in a plate model in SW2024 and posted that, so will stick it in the mill and see what it does, at first glance through the .nc file it seems not far off reasonable. Has anyone any up to date thoughts or post processors for Solidworks CAM before I get deep into this one?
