Wanted; turret encoder for Hardinge CHNC2
My encoder had a smoking habit. I need another, or if I find detailed pictures of one I may be able to round up enough info to fix it. I don't know if the CHNC1 is the same or not, but looking at that may be help also.
Thanks
Thanks

Check out this buildhttps://www.cnczone.com/forums/south-be ... cnc-2.html It's long but I believe he addressed the turret encoder

Re: Wanted; turret encoder for Hardinge CHNC2
As near as I can tell he built one to work with his system? I left a message for him and a couple others there to see if they can give me some pointers. Thanks.lavrgs wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 12:16 pm Check out this buildhttps://www.cnczone.com/forums/south-be ... cnc-2.html It's long but I believe he addressed the turret encoder

Re: Wanted; turret encoder for Hardinge CHNC2
I'm in the process of rebuilding a Hardinge CHNC4. Current status is I verified that the spindle and axes could move, tested the collet closer, got the turret to spin..most of the previous Centroid system has been removed...Ordered a new Allin1dc and connected the servos, and they can move under control - there is still a bunch of work to do but I'm out of the country until November.

Re: Wanted; turret encoder for Hardinge CHNC2
If you get into the turret encoder I'd love to see pics and figure out how close it is to mine.

Re: Wanted; turret encoder for Hardinge CHNC2
When I get back home I can take a closer look. I have this.
a video showing the turret moving and the encoder is visible

Re: Wanted; turret encoder for Hardinge CHNC2
Today (2/13/24) I plan on opening up the cover over the encoder for the turret and see if I get any response from the encoder.
