2 axis mill Probing cycles

All in one 2 axis Bridgeport style mill. V5.06 software.

I am having issues with the probing cycles on a 2 Axis All in one milling machine. I use the probing cycles on another 2 axis Acorn machine with no issues. I just have to be careful when moving the Z axis on the Quill too far.

The all in one is giving me a "504 error on line 98" using the All in one, as soon as I hit the Cycle Start button

Any help would be appreciated.

504 indicates an invalid parameter on line 98, can you post the program file too? The issue would be in there.

I have no access to the Centroid Probing Cycle Code. This is a part of the program. My Guess is it is related to the Z axis. Although I am running the same version of 12 on both machines. One works and the other one does not. The one that works is an Acorn version.

Thank You

My apologies, I misread the probing cycles part. Yeah, it's most likely something where it wants to interact with the Z somewhere, I'll take a look. Interesting that it gives an invalid parameter instead of something like 501 invalid character.
And you should be able to access the probe_move.cnc, it's in the system folder.

What kind of probe are you using?

I am using a Drewtronics NC probe with the Centroid inverter cable and the Centroid Interface Cable to the All In One. The Probe Trip and Probe Detect input are working as they should on the Input Screen. Also the MPG Jog X1, X10 and X100 are working Properly. Probe Detect is working and the jog away is also working properly to clear the probe.

Thank You

From the experiments that I've been able to run so far, using automatic probing cycles has been impossible on a two axis machine (which I expected going into it) since all of the probe movement programs enlist the Z axis to automatically retreat. I'm currently investigating workarounds, but what is interesting to me is that you said that the probing cycles work fine on your 2 axis Acorn. I'm using an Acorn to test the probing cycles and they've been throwing the same errors that you're getting on your AllinOne.
Do you use the same probing cycles on both? Could you post a report from the Acorn so that I can look into why that one works?

Try Changing Parameter 130 From 0 to 93. This puts a Z Axis on/off Button on the Setup menu. When Probing put the probe where you want to start(Center of bore, probe tip in the bore) Go to the setup screen turn on the Z axis. It will want you to re-home. Ignore it. Go to the Part Screen select probe, select bore and hit the Cyc/Start. The set this coordinates. Turn the z axis back off again. Its a few extra button pushes but it works.

Also For Webs and corners that require you to raise the z Axis. Set it up so you move the z axis just enough to clear the part and move to the center, too much and you will get an error.

Thank You for your Help.

I noticed that this parameter is still set to 0 from your report on the AllinOne, have you not gotten the probing to work on that machine with 130 set to 93?
