Centroid Acorn and a Lathe with gang tools setup

Hello,
I am a Centroid happy customer. I installed Acorn on a Wabeco milling machine several years ago and I am very happy with the result.
I would like to know references/posts/other informations about CNC12 Lathe applications to control a lathe with a gang tooling system.

I had a quick look into your work, and I think it is a fantastic one... a lot of things to learn.
I have made CNC a Wabeto 1410 HS with Acorn, and I am quite happy with the results.
Next project is making CNC of a Klippfeld manual lathe; I already purchased it with linear guides, and need to adapt a ball bearing system on it.
Of course will continue using Centroid.
One doubt I have now is to try Gang or Turret type....

Gang tooling is faster and compared to small turrets with better rigidity.
Drawback is it limits the part length.

Also with gang tooling, part diameter is reduced by the more tools you add. Therefore complex parts are limited to small parts.

You can work around this by using indexable tooling plates like on the Omniturns. Have a couple setup with proper tool offsets already programmed in, then swap between the plates at a given point during the cycle.
Granted, it does somewhat defeat the purpose of using gang tooling, but it's still better than a tool post.
