Programming, Parameter Configuration

Working on an Acorn retrofit to a Sharp NC 618 OD grinder. Pulled off the OEM Mitusibishi HMI, controller, drive and motor. Tied Acorn I/O into the existing terminal blocks to connect to the machine's electronics. Using a Yaskawa Sigma V drive and motor.
Writing macros & programs to function as canned cycles the operator will use for plunge & reciprocate grinding operations. Includes programming checks to prevent a wheel crash; and in-process inspections to let operator comp to improve accuracy of grinding operations. Adding a grind calibrate operation to check accuracy as needed, and wheel dressing to include tool wear which will play directly into production by not having to re-touchoff part.
Worked thru a number of problems to get accuracy of 0.0001 and repeatability to +/- 0.0001. Several OEM mechanical deficiencies, and fine tuning Acorn system response.
The last hair pulling wtf was spotted when running with gauging to check accuracy, again, on the machine. It just so happened the lube system activated, and the gauge showed the infeed axis, which carries the grinding wheel, appear to move into the part over 0.001. Not an anomoly, does it everytime.
Investigation found the hydraulic pressure from ther lube system pushes the cross slide slide up, tipping it into the grinding wheel. The pump has its own timer and activation interval, it generates 50 psi, which cant be adjusted. We Reduced lube pump run time from 3 sec to 1 sec. Deflection is now 0.0003, unacceptable. I can sort of control activation by letting Acrorn manage when power is applied to the pump, it fires when power applied. Still no good cause it may go off during operation. I cant control the Acorn lube system timer.
Proposal. I want to make the part program totally control the lube pump. How to change configurations parameters from a part program, specifically the Lube cycle parameter #179.
