Jason Hawk build / cnc retrofit

This project started during Covid 2020 year. It was coined the BB&S build (BED, BREAKFAST AND SHOPTIME). I designed the basic frame, mechanicals and electronics package. Jason had purchased a new local sourced cnc plasma table and quickly realized it was manufactured with very poor quality control, and never could get it to cut. After getting a refund, he opted to work with me on building his own machine. I prepared drawings and emailed them to Jason. Being a very capable fabricator he quickly built the frame. Extra touches, mods he made included capping all frame tubing, added very nice adjustable feet, added a swing out frame under table for the two 24x24x6 enclosures, added a slide in nook for his Hyprrtherm 85amp cutter, added table side covers, had frame and covers powder coated, and bedlined the 6inch deep water pan.
Jason then hauled the 3500lb frame from Oklahoma to my shop in northern Illinois (900 miles) to outfit and trim out the frame to a turnkey table, his wife and him stayed in out guesthouse hence BB&S lol. Over the next 3 days we completed the project.
The finished unit weighed in at 4,400lbs. It's a 5x10 table constructed out out of 2x6x3/16 tubing, 10ga water pan, 12ga covers. Gantry is 3x6 extrusion, with length to accommodate a 4th axis off the side. 25mm Hywin rails on Y axis, double 20mm rails on X Axis. Z Axis is a Parker with DMM Dyn4 nema 23 servo. Gantry ends, all brackets milled by my shop. Gantry plates are 19" high, 13" wide, and 1" thick 6061.
Electronics are DMM DYN4 750watt nema34 servos, 5:1 planetary gear reduction boxes, noise filter protection, 65amp line reactors. Limit switches are Altechs, the round torch mount is manufactured in my shop. Originally installed UCCNC, and MINIthc, retrofitting now with Acorn Plasma and THC.
This retrofit took place last week. My wife and I towed our 27foot Rockwood camper a total of 1900 miles, camping at four different camp grounds in route to and from Jason's shop. Had a blast!
