Intercon Posting “@@“ In Drill Cycle

Good afternoon,

I have a 2 axis knee mill converted to Acorn. X and Y are powered, but the Z is operated by hand through the quill similar to a Prototrak. The Z axis (quill) has a glass scale that provides feedback on the controller.

When writing drill cycles in Intercon, the software outputs two “@@“ symbols instead of one “@“ symbol representing a Z axis manual move. When I attempt to run the program with two “@@“ symbols, I receive an error. When I delete one of the “@“ symbols, leaving only one “@“ in place, the program runs great without error.

How can I make Intercon output one “@“ instead of two?

Thanks in advance,
Cahark

Hi Keith - I'll post a file and report from one of my systems as well. This has been in the Servo fork since the switch to the levels version (4.11?). On my way back to the office now.

Keith,

Thanks for looking over my issue. Please see attached working program, non-working program, and report file. Also, I posted a screenshot of the error for reference.

Thanks again,
Chris

If I have a handful of holes to locate, drill, c'sink, and tap, I find it much quicker to set my quill to manual, enter the half dozen holes in Intercon using a drill cycle and follow that with a repeat for 99 times. Then it's just cycle start, run my center drill around, then drill, then countersink, and finally power tap the holes.

For a half dozen holes or so, it's much faster that setting up my tools and then programming each operation to run everything automatically.

This is great news. Thank you for fixing it for V5.

I’ve ran 2 and 3 axis Prototraks at work for years. They are great job shop machines. I wanted to create something similar for a reasonable home shop price. Acorn make this process simple and very comparable.

Hi Keith,

Just checking in. I haven’t been keeping an eye on release notes as well as I should, and I decided to wait to update until now. Has this fix been implemented?

Thanks,
Chris
