I have a question about e-stop wiring I have been unable to find an answer on:
For a closed loop stepper CNC machine, should the estop contactor cut mains power to the switchmode power supply OR cut DC power from the switchmode power supply to the drivers?

safest way is to have the estop contactor break any highvoltage / high amp power to any such device that requires it.
