Ive got my scope hooked up to the 1st step pin of the db25 and acorn is configured from the wizard to use the db25 connector. Im feel like i am missing something as by default the pin is pulled high 5v and stepping pulls it to 0v. I would have thought it 0 and then pulled high. I've attached an image of the scope and as you an see there are some spikes in there which I was also surprised to see on my first bench tests?

Is ok am I missing something? Pulldown resistors?

any help appreciated

The outputs can be inverted in the wizard if they are not what you need.
A spike or ringing is normal on any fast edge. This is more a function of what is connected ('scope lead. etc.) than the output driver. For most applications it can be considered a measurement artifact ("not real").
