Building a CNC router using acorn, I want to have the dust extractor turn on with the software, it's a 240v 3hp 10amp dust extractor, I am ordering a few parts so if you could.provide a link to what contactor and snubber I need that would be much appreciated. I am based in Australia so even a part number. Thanks in advance

I have a couple dozen of these laying around with the built in snubber attached, if you were only closer.....

Why use a contactor and not an SSR?

You can also use an SSR.

Chris, I've only used the Siemens brand contactors with the built in snubber because I have dozens of them laying around from retrofits I've done. If you do a search for 240v, 10 hp contactor I'm sure you'll find several of them available in your area. I just don't know what's available down under. You need to find one rated for the motor on your dust collection. Recommending one wont help if you can't get it there.
BTW, my most favorite vacation ever was to Australia but I'll admit I wasn't shopping for contactors when I was there.
I've never used a SSR but that may be another option as pointed out by others.

Hi Chris
Just look at Direct Automation in QLD and look for a CWC mini Contactor thay go up to 11kW
and you can buy a clip in snubber (Surge Suppressor) and thay have different coil voltages.
