Syil X5 Limit Switches?

Hi Guys, I'm working on my X5 mill conversion. I decided to do away with the clumsy original limit switches on X and Y and use induction probes instead.

Here's my question. I plan to only use one switch per axis. Does it matter which end of the axis I place them? I realise the "normal" place is the machine home/origin at the bottom left. But it is more convenient for me to place the X switch at the +ve extreme of X travel. I'm coming from 3D printer building world where it does not matter at all. But before I start drilling mount holes in the castings is there something I should consider first? Thanks for your help!

place them in the position that you want to define as the "home" position of the machine tool. x0y0z0 MACHINE zero position. then use travel limits to define the work envelope of the machine from this position (the position you choose to mount the home switches).
