system test problem

Hi again
The machine is completely installed and we are running the system test but its failing with an alarm "Spindle Encocoder not detected "
In this system we have a spindle encoder but it is being used only for the ATC and it is not connected to the MPU11 its connected to the inverter.
Do we have to connect the encoder also to the MPU11? If we have to connect it to the MPU11 do we connect it in parallel with the inverter or just the MPU11? Does the mpu11 contain an end resistor for the inverter?
